Thinking of spring? I know I sure am. As soon as the air starts to get cold and the ground gets hard to walk on. The days are getting shorter. There is less sun in the day. I start to think of the next year to come. The next growing season. The prospects of a new year. To bad it is over a hundred days away!
Thinking of Spring when others are thinking about Christmas
When the sun feels warmer on the skin. You feel like doing things outside. I look for things to do outside. Just to be outside. I’ll do things outside that probably should be done inside. Just to be outside in the spring. To smell the spring air and hear the spring sounds. It is wonderful.
That can seem like forever away with snow in the forecast. So what is a gardener to do?
Sure, you could ski or snowboard if you are able. Or, play in the snow in some way. Some can even escape to sunny destinations for the winter months. But, aside from that?
Right?…
Well, dream, sure. I like to experiment with different things, also. Like growing potatoes indoors, and how many things can I make from my squash harvest!
